The Asia Leadership Fellow Program (ALFP) was a joint program of the International House of Japan (I-House) and the Japan Foundation launched in 1996 for the purpose of creating a network of public intellectuals deeply rooted in and committed to civil society in Asia. The ALFP provided selected leaders in Asia with an opportunity to reside for two months at the International House of Japan and engage in collaborative activities and dialogue—until the long history of this fellowship program came to a close in 2018. During Fiscal 2018 and 2019, the ALFP instituted follow-up activities, including lecture series and an e-magazine, involving some of the past fellows to share the fruits of the program over the last two decades with a wider audience.
