We are pleased to announce our annual, members-only Ohanami Dinner on Friday, March 24. As many of you may know, I-House is famous for its many beautiful cherry trees. In addition to the Somei Yoshino, other sakura varieties in the famed garden created by Jihei Ogawa VII and elsewhere on the grounds include shidare-zakura, usuzumi-zakura,yae-zakura, and yama-zakura. The trees are lit up at night during the cherry blossom season, creating a stunning contrast to the stately backdrop of the I-House building (registered as a tangible cultural property), jointly designed by architectural masters Kunio Maekawa, Junzo Sakakura, and Junzo Yoshimura. On the day of the cherry-viewing party, a professional photographer will be on hand to take commemorative photos with the sakura and garden in the background.
