Mr. Hiruma will pass his ideas and expertise on working in the global market on to the next generation, based on his broad experiences of making IHI one of Japan’s most competitive heavy industry companies in the world.
Hiruma Yuji (Advisor, IHI Corporation)
Born in 1947. After graduating from Waseda University, Mr. Hiruma joined the IHI Corporation (formerly known as Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.) in 1973. Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Hiruma served as Director of the IHI Moscow Office for 10 years, and President of IHI Inc. in the U.S. for about 10 years. After returning to Japan, he served as General Manager of the Corporate Planning Office, and Board Director and Managing Executive Officer, and was appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Global Marketing and Sales Strategy Department in 2009. He has held his current position since 2012. He also is Advisor to the Japan Bridge Association since 2013.
